Grooming the Groom – Shirts and Ties

Bride Vs Groom, Wedding BlogRight people. Time to get serious, (as much as we can!) I’m sure we can all agree that it has been fun goggling at the fit …erm…suits… but I’m afraid we are not getting anywhere! I still don’t have a clue what kind of suit Matt and his many groomsmen are going to wear  – after all you can’t pick a suit without knowing what shirt and tie to go with it! Arrrrrgggghhhh!!!

Breathe. Right so we are kicking the search up a gear and this week I’m looking at shirts and ties. Surely something will click in to place…

Please?!

OH NO… I just realised that there are waistcoats too… Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Maybe Matt is not the only one in crisis mode!

Nice cup of tea and a quick fix of Don’t Tell the Bride will help…. ooh did anyone see the Don’t tell the Bride to be Proposals? … The groom who abseiled down St Pancreas in London to propose to his bride? Crazy but you got to say original! Or the guy who dressed up as a bear? … or the GIRL who proposed in the Aquarium …or the ….wait …stop STOP …this is not helping… fun though! …. concentrate….

Right, so… Shirts and ties.. I think there is only one thing we can do to help… bring on the MEN!

GROOMSmen that is… …

So I love the short white shirts and the purple ties are striking against the grey suits.

I also like the contrast of the groomsmen in the light grey next to the groom in the dark.

Ooooh swish fellas! Loving the bow ties and the camel coloured waistcoats but maybe the groom should stand out more? Perhaps if only the Groom wore the hat?

I like this look very much and you could change it to work with any colour combination.

I love those long ties with the dark trousers, and having the groom in grey gives him a bit more prominence over the others…and why shouldn’t he be on his wedding day?!

A classic destination wedding look (you couldn’t get away with that colour in the winter UK months!)

The dark brown ties look peachy against the light suits.

Cool dudes.

Cowabunga Dude!!!!!!

These ninja groomsmen are rocking out the grey suit and dark tie.

Quite a common groomsman look but they are finding another way to stand out…

These cheeky chappies look dashing in their braces and bow ties!

Again I love the contrast of the groomsmen against the groom.

These blue suits really pop with the white shirt and blue ties.

I love the different shades of blues for the ties and the fact that the grooms’ suit is a bright blue…nice!

Slightly off topic …but I love the bright yellow boutonniere, it offsets the suits perfectly.

Moving on to the details…the nitty gritty.. (YES, I’m feeling brave!)

A gorgeous combination! The checkered shirt and spotted tie really shouldn’t work …but somehow I love it!

The prefect style Groom badge is a stroke of genius!

Ooooh La La! Eat your heart out James Bond!

A sophisticated attire, perfect for an elegant affair.

J’aime the black buttons on the white shirt.

Loving the vivid bright purple tie with the soooo of-the-moment floral shirt.

Traditional but stylish suit, perfect for winter weddings.

The dark blue and white tie against the white shirt is pure chic and never goes out of fashion.

And finally to end… the quirkiest of the lot!

Floral (awesome) shirt and blue checkered bow tie just screams originality!

LOVE IT!
