Parklands Quendon Hall Wedding Film with Hayley and Dan

Today we’re thrilled to share a lovely Parklands Quendon Hall wedding film from the fantastic Gione da Silva who clearly had an amazing time capturing Hayley and Dan’s big day! There were some amazing surprises throughout the day (the transportation for one!) and Hayley and Dan look just perfect together. But enough from us, we’ll hand over to Gione to tell us exactly how Hayley and Dan’s big day went down…

This was one of the most fun weddings I had this year! Since meeting Hayley and Dan for the consultation at their house we had an immediate connection. We have a lot in common in terms of personalities and share the love for life and fun. It was easy to see we would capture great footage, as they were both very keen on having me as their wedding filmmaker.

Hayley is an IT teacher and Dan is a professional angler. Dan is so into this that he actually writes articles for some magazines and online blogs about fishing, etc… We tried to do a little piece about his passion for fishing but in the end we did not have enough time. Thank God Hayley covered that in her speech!

They got married on May the 29th at Parklands Quendon Hall, Essex. That is a truly inspirational venue with lots of opportunities for beautiful imagery. It’s actually overwhelming! We were lucky to work with great photographer Neal Laver who also has a great eye for composition, so on the day, it was pretty much straight forward for both of us as we shared ideas and both came up with stunning material.

Hayley’s main goal was to get married outside. This was made clear during the consultation and I had it all planned for nice candids of the couple around the golden hour, etc… Guess what? On the day of their wedding, we woke up to rain! There it went the possibility of an outside wedding. As I got to Parklands it was still grey and rainy and at that stage no hopes for an outside wedding. The interesting thing was that even after all that planning and things not going according to plan, Hayley was so up beat and cheerful. It was really cool to see a bride actually enjoying her day and going with the flow. That alone puts anyone at easy and eager to do their best to over deliver on any promise!

During preps Hayley kept looking at the window and they even had a little bet amongst the bridesmaids whether the Sun would show up for a nice outside wedding. About 40 minutes before the ceremony time, out of ‘nowhere’, the Sun showed up! It was great seeing their happiness! The guys from Parklands had to work really hard to get things ready in time, what a great bunch! This is the reason why I show the place being prepared for a wedding outside, it meant a lot for the couple!

They decided to have personal vows, which added a lot to their film and to their wedding too. It was so much like them!

Another emotional moment for Hayley was the opportunity to have her father walking her down the aisle. He has mobility issues and it was a real effort for him to be able to be there. He also delivered a very fun and heartfelt speech.

Although I normally stay in touch with most of my couples, I actually built a friendship with Hayley and Dan and we always talk. I am about to finish their full feature film and can’t wait to see their reaction!

Thanks to Gione for sharing this lovely film with us today, you can find out more about Gione and his work on the links below!
