Weekly Wedding Inspiration – Cake Toppers

Bride Vs Groom, Wedding BlogOk. So it’s been a week and I’m still thinking about cake. That doesn’t make me a bad person, it’s research… just research! I’ve got to find a cake that will look great in the photos and that all the guests will enjoy… it’s all about the guests…really I’m taking one for the team if you think about it, I mean it’s not that I’m bothered at all, cake is just… WILL SOMEONE STOP THAT CHOCOLATE CAKE FROM STARING AT ME!!!!!!

So this week I thought we’d leave those amazing cream fillings and sweet frostings behind and focus on some amazing cake-top decoration before my diet goes completely out of the window! The cake topper is la piste de resistance, the final decoration that finishes the picture and can inject your personality and your own theme into your wedding cake. These days it’s no longer just the standard generic bride and groom standing side by side atop the cake, they can be pretty much anything you want them to be and can even be recognisable characters! Check out these funky little finds!

This cake topper is literally picture perfect!

Very cute and funky…would certainly be the talk of the wedding!

I absolutely adore this alternative wedding topper.

The flower arch, the happily ever after banner and the cute little cat all make this topper very personal to the couple.

Oh wow…check out these two little birds perched on this cream cake!

The little groom and bride outfits make this a gorgeous addition to your day and could spruce up a classically simple cake!

Oooh la la! This is one for the grown ups.. a slightly risque couple ready to start their honeymoon in style!

I love the little details – the flowers in her hair, the pearl necklace and her miniature garter.

I’m going to regret showing these to Matt…

Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewie Dog Cake Topper.. WOW

If you are a die-hard Star Wars fan then these might be the ideal addition to your wedding!

(Come to think of it I probably shouldn’t mention Die Hard in front of Matt either!)

A naughty little pinch of the bum!

Poised and elegant from the front but the back of the cake topper tells a different story…

This one made me laugh a lot…will this be Matt & I?!

The reluctant groom is literally being dragged by his bride to be…hilarious!

This captivating pair made me smile from ear to ear.

I love the books all piled haphazardly at their feet. How precious!

Finally for today what about this charming cake topper?

Most brides want to avoid rain on their wedding day but this gorgeous topper is embracing it.

J’adore the wellies and the umbrella..I say if you can’t beat them join them! :)

I love the idea of having a fun cake topper that matches our personality and makes people laugh and, though you can get some amazing designs made out of edible icing, I’d love to have something to have as a keepsake afterwards and the hard-wearing clay designs often allow more detail and the chance to keep them forever!

What’s that Matt? Yes, it was clearly a joke!
