I’ve been involved with weddings much longer than Matt. I’m a wedding photographer and I absolutely LOVE my job. I love everything about weddings, particularly getting to meet amazing couples and hearing their story and for me that’s what this blog is all about! I photographed my first wedding when I was 16 and since then I’ve been involved in hundreds but I never tire of seeing gorgeous couples so in love on the happiest day of their lives.
Considering I talk about weddings so much with Matt it seemed like he was never going to get the hint. I’d nearly given up on the idea we were ever going to get married when on Christmas eve 2010 he finally popped the question. For me it was an absolutely perfect moment, (even if it wasn’t exactly how he’d intended it!) but we’ll get onto that later! Finally I was able to start planning my dream wedding and I was incredibly excited! Only trouble was it turned out I didn’t know exactly what my dream wedding was!
I’ve seen so many amazing weddings: brilliant concepts, unique locations, stunning dresses. My brain was buzzing with ideas, but as I started to reel them off to my (slightly stunned) fiancé I realised one thing: these weren’t MY ideas. Every time I thought about something I’d seen I started to think about the wedding it came from, the way I felt about that wedding, the personality of that particular couple and how well it suited them. Other weddings offer amazing inspiration but I wanted to do it my way…sorry… OUR way. To create our day, our story, our perfect day. We’re still searching for ideas and hopefully this blog will help us along the way, but what I do know is that when we do get married the day is going to be all ours.
Every wedding is unique, every couple has their own story to tell and that’s why we’re here. We want to know your tale; share your journey and hear your thoughts. On Bride Vs Groom we want both sides of the story to really get the full picture of your wedding. Oh and speaking of pictures, I’m a photographer. Pictures are my life and I can’t wait to see some amazing photographs! We’ll be looking for the best photography out there, images that excite us, images that we connect with, images that really show us the emotion and atmosphere of the day. As a photographer I’m inspired by a range of styles, different types of composition, different ways of shooting. Vintage, contemporary, reportage, fine art. Whatever the style, whatever the wedding theme, all we ask is that the pictures truthfully tell that all important story: The story of two people who fell in love and decided to spend the rest of their lives together. For THAT is the greatest tale ever told.
