WARNING! KEEP OUT MATT…. NO GROOMS ALLOWED! I MEAN IT… NO PEEKING!
Hello all you lovely ladies and welcome back to the Bridal Boutique! Considering I’m a bit of a self-confessed tom-boy I’m having SOOOO much fun finding out about wedding dresses, accessories and shoes… In fact I’m becoming a little obsessed! This week I bring you my findings from the world of veils! This is primarily because after Matt saw the price of one of the dresses I was investigating last week his face has frozen in an expression of utmost fear and I need something to cover him up! Now I had no idea, not a tiny clue in my head that there was so many different types of veil! I mean, literally thousands of different variations that made my head spin with all the choice! Right, I guess let’s start at the beginning; that classic look I first recreated as a little girl with a pillowcase over my head playing weddings… This week I bring you the absolute classic traditional veil:
This stunning veil really makes my heart sing.
The veil falling softly around the face is divine and the garland of flowers that have been added makes this veil really magical.
It almost belongs in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream!
This elbow length veil is more traditional: an absolute classic!
I love that the material is so light that the veil compliments but does not disguise her features.
From experience I know that this veil works a treat in photographs and is highly recommend for those brides who want to achieve a timeless look.
Gosh what a dramatic veil!
This devastatingly beautiful veil is perfect for those who want to make a really jaw dropping entrance.
A slight negative point is that it is not very practicable in the often wet weather of the UK but would be amazing for a destination wedding or on one of those (sadly infrequent) scorching summer days in the UK.
A cute addition to an otherwise traditional veil is to place a flower in the hair.
It gives it a fresh look and you can tie it in with your bouquet!
A quirky and exquisite take on the veil.
A french inspired bridal lace cap with luscious lace and a sweeping veil.

I love the detailing on this lace around the edging.
It so delicate and pretty.
This cathedral-length veil creates the ultimate dramatic entrance as you greet your groom-to-be.
The two layers of raw edge tulle create an ethereal, romantic look which is just crying out to be worn.
Oh. Wow.
I love everything about this one, the length just resting lightly on the elbows, the detailing on the lace is simply first-class and the little flower at the top just finishes what for me is a perfect veil.
Wonderful.

Well that’s it for me for today, I must go and carry on about my daily business whilst day-dreaming of lace and fabric!
What’s that? No Matt, we can’t just use the net curtains from the bathroom… Matt smile… just a little smile? … I’m going to need a thicker veil!
