Christmas, as we’ve previously established, is undoubtedly my favourite time of year. I love practically everything about it from the carols to the decorations to the festive good will. There’s one thing about it though that I, like most people really don’t enjoy: Christmas shopping.
Now it’s not that I consider myself to be a grinch when it comes to giving; I genuinely get a huge amount of satisfaction from making someone else smile with a well-considered gift, it’s just the well-considering part that tends to drive me a little bit crazy. When people query the existence of Santa Clause they so often ask the wrong questions. The question of how on earth Santa can visit every single child’s house in the world in one night pails into insignificance compared to the question of just how the heck he comes up with gifts for those who haven’t got any idea what they’d like, have no hobbies and interests that provide any inspiration whatsoever and most certainly haven’t sat on your knee and provided you with a list.
Having officially now looked at EVERY PRODUCT IN THE WORLD during this year’s Christmas shopping I can in fact exclusively reveal my Christmas purchases thus far (shhh, don’t tell my family). Stand by to be amazed, I have officially bought…drumroll please…
One Chocolate Orange.
And it’s for someone who’s on a diet.
And doesn’t like Chocolate.
Or Oranges.
I fear my aspirations of one day becoming Santa Claus may have hit an early stumbling block.
