For a long time now we’ve been sharing with you the story of all of our wedding plans based on extracts from Dom and I’s wedding diaries. Our last instalment was from the morning of the wedding before everything got started but we wanted to tell you the story of the rest of the day slightly differently…
We were incredibly lucky to have Dom’s brother and my cinematography business partner Alex Shaw with us, and although we had definitely just invited him as a guest he wanted to do a bit of filming for us as our wedding gift! Having all our memories captured by someone so close to us both is, I’m sure you’ll agree, a pretty amazing gift and so we wanted to share it with you all today!
We love the video and the fun “guest-cam” feel he’s created with it… in fact we can’t believe he got so much footage considering he was taking it all just as a guest and we spent most of the day forcing him to put the camera down and replacing it with a beer! So thank you so much to Alex for doing such a fantastic job, and also a mahoosive thank you to our lovely friend the very talented Holly Jazz Lowe for composing the soundtrack to it!
So without further ado here it is: Our wedding video!
p.s. the guy in the blue jacket that dances… that’s my stunt double… nothing to do with me, honest!
Well, we hope you enjoyed watching our little video, it really was an amazing day! But now I’m going to hand over to Alex who wanted to share just a few thoughts on filming as a guest and his big sister getting married.
So my sister was getting married and after the congratulations were over, I had to decide on a present that was unique and special. As a Cinematographer I had some ideas, but this poem fully describes what happened…My sister’s getting married, What can I get you? You know as a male, I don’t have a clue For giving can be scary, a confusing thing And I didn’t want a gift, that went straight in the bin So film the event, I did decide A decision I thought, I could complete in my stride But things were more complex, Then I initially thought It would have been easier, If a gift I just bought. For Domibear getting married, Filled me with emotional cheer A fact I tried to hide, By drinking lots of beer. Though I said that I wouldn’t It turned out I cried! Not because I was sad, But filled with much pride! The speeches were great, Make me laugh yes they did The best man called me, An Obama campaign operative! We danced through the night, Undeterred by the weather I was so happy, I felt as light as a feather! And during it all, A film I did make I just hope that you like it, As much as your delicious chocolate cake. Congratulations Domibear and Mattibear! video by York Place Films Soundtrack composed by Holly Jazz Lowe and David Lowe
