We returned from our Palmarian wedding planning mission on a bit of a high. Despite being cut down to only a week from our planned two due to work commitments we had, more or less, achieved what we needed. Things may still be a little vague… we hadn’t actually handed over any deposits (though not for lack of trying) but as long as everyone kept to the promises they had made we were basically starting to get somewhere and the lack of any booking forms was clearly just the Palmarian way. Still we were assured we would have flowers, a car, a PA system, a cake, a church and a venue for the reception, and we had a storeroom full of items to decorate it with. Now we just needed to take care of the things we could easily do from the UK: sending out the official invites, applying finishing touches, getting our music playlist together, emailing the band… plenty to do but there was lots of time… wasn’t there? Surely we could leave it a few days… after all we’d just done absolutely loads!
So that’s what we did… we left it… and left it…. and… well, let’s just say a word to the wise: NEVER allow wedding planning inertia to set in!! Here’s what our wedding diary reads like for the post-La Palma period…

BRIDE VS GROOM IS FINALLY ONLINE!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPP!!! Well if this doesn’t kick start the wedding planning I don’t know what will!! BRING IT ON!

09.00am. We haven’t achieved a lot this week on the wedding front but when we both finish work we ARE going to sort out the invites!
11.45pm. Dom finally finishes work after a scheduled 17.30 finish.
03.00am. Matt returns from work. Invites tomorrow then!

12.00pm. Work up. Both completely knackered, watched TV. Really can’t bring ourselves to do invites today but there’s still months to go, we can do them next week. Need to email the band this week too!
Did nothing this week.
Really should do some wedding stuff one of these days!
Dom watched “The Hangover”… that counts as planning right?! Right… this is the week… Dom’s getting stressed about it so we will DEFINITELY SORT THINGS OUT THIS WEEK! GUARANTEED!!
Oh Crap! We’re getting married quite soon… should probably do something about that!
And so on and so on! Months of plenty of thought (as seen on this blog!) but more or less no activity! It’s amazing how easy it is to accidentally put the wedding plans aside despite writing a wedding blog every day and going out and photographing and filming them! Fear not though, there are still a few twists and turns to come in this here wedding diary! An absolute plethora of wedding plans and extreme activity just like this week’s entry…
